Design and Decorate a Bedroom

Bedrooms are among the most important rooms in the house. It’s a very personal space for sleeping comfortably after a long day, storing clothes and other belongings to avoid clutter, and expressing your personality. The goal is to optimize space—with style! Discover the bedrooms created by both teams on the reality TV series Le grand chantier RONA.

Week 8: Team Blue’s Guest Room

This week, both teams tackled one of the rooms in the basement. While Team Red brought to life a practical and casual home office, Team Blue created a third bedroom: the guest room. With its accent wall made of wood beams (which pleasantly recalls the kitchen and living room on the main floor), this space reflects the rest of the house: a warm, inviting space bursting with personality.

Week 4: Primary Bedrooms

As with kid’s bedrooms, the goal here is to optimize space and storage to avoid clutter, and to create a cozy cocoon for restful sleep. But that's not all: it's important to bring to life a room that reflects you by adding personality.

The Rooms Created by the Teams

This week, both teams created bedrooms where the headboard doubles as an accent wall, adding an architectural detail to the space. It's the first thing you notice when you enter the room! In both cases, you can personalize the project any way you want: play around with the background wall colours, get daring with the layout and spacing of the wood pieces, and add carefully curated decor items.

Even More Personality Thanks to an Accent Wall

For the primary bedroom and the kid’s room, both teams brought to life a unique accent wall. Here's proof that you can totally customize a bedroom with a few pieces of wood, some paint, and a little time and love. With this kind of DIY project, the possibilities are truly endless! However, we recommend using architectural details of the room, such as a window, as a starting point for the design of the accent wall.

Week 3: Kid’s Bedrooms

A child’s bedroom is a key place for play, homework, and rest. Soft colours are the best to make bedtime magical. But your little ones' bedroom also needs to be stimulating—a haven where they can flourish! By taking care to decorate in a playful and unique way, you can personalize your child’s space to their taste.

The Rooms Created by the Contestants

The house-shaped bed steals the show in the rooms created by the teams. To make the space even more playful, you can dare to personalize the furniture. For example, while sheer curtains and string lights create a magical atmosphere with a ton of whimsy, a canvas roof will offer an indoor camping experience that kids will enjoy.
