The motor turning the illusion rod seems and little loud and the illusion rod doesn't seem to turn smoothly, stopping and starting. What can I do to fix this? Thank you

Can this insert be placed in a particle board fireplace unit? Guidelines indicate that this unit has to be 3' from all combustibles. Therefore, can it be placed in an existing oak (particle board) fireplace unit.
Yes, this unit can be inserted into an existing particle board unit. It just needs some clearance/air at the back vent for efficient airflow

What clearance is required, side, back and bottom. Understand there is air intake on top, and heat is vented out through the front? Can a TV be wall mounted above about 18".
At least 8" of clearance is needed from the top and back of the unit, the more the better for improved air intake.

Adds to room décor
I bought this fireplace this week and when installed it added to the décor in our room. I inserted it into a brick natural wood fireplace (we were not using) and it fit perfectly as per the detailed measurements provided on description of product. The heater is not overly strong, but meets our requirements and the flame lighting could be a little brighter. Quite satisfied with this purchase through Rona

Good bang for your buck!!
We purchased this insert as a replacement and are very happy with it. It fits quite nicely.
The dual heat feature is nice, it's very effective running at the lower level. The fan is quiet. The flames could be a bit brighter but overall the unit is worth the purchase price.

Great value!
Just received this insert today. Arrived quickly after ordering and was well packaged. It seems a good value for the price so am going to keep it despite having to add a narrow frame around it as it does not fit my 28x23 opening (had to put it in from the back and ended up with a 2” gap all the way around which, as I stated, can be remedied with a narrow frame which fortunately my carpenter friend can make). Also, the remote didn’t work and I could not get the battery compartment open to check the battery. I am giving this product 5 stars primarily because of the customer service I received when I called the company about the remote not working. Tamerin was friendly & helpful and immediately sent out a replacement. Hopefully there will be no issues with the insert going forward, but so far I am happy with it.

Flames stopped working on day 2
Stopped working on day 2. Trying to get a return label from Rona is impossible. Want it out of here and my money back now!

Beautiful Fireplace
Love this fireplace, good heat, quiet fan, only wish the flames were a little brighter but all in all nice unit. Saved $80 because I ordered on line !!!!!!

Not warm enough
With less than 5000 BTUs, looks like it's not powerful enough to warm my basement corner(less than 500 squre feet).
Fan noise is normal but take a long time to heat the area since air flow is weak.
