Messy finish
Not very happy - the stain left the stairs messy and multi coloured.
We need to hire another contractor to try to fix it.

Not the best quality!
Not great quality....veneer is VERY thin!
When we applied the stain to the treads, you could see the zig zag
pattern of the glue between the strips of veneer. Same thing happened
with the risers when we painted them. Luckily, enough coats of paint
eventually hid the zig zags and we plan to put a carpet runner over
the completed stairs so this will hide the marks on the treads.
In summary, sorry we didn't pay the extra and go with solid wood
instead of the veneered treads! Lesson learned, you get what you
pay for I guess!

Beautiful, unfinished stairs
It looks fantastic - just needs a stain and finish to protect it - any suggestions?
