Initially worked great, but now strips and clogs
Initially chipped quite well. With ongoing use, started stripping and clogging discharge churte (instead of chipping), so I repeatedly moved the counterplate closer (as instructed), but it will go no closer and continues to strip and clog the discharge chute. Seems I need a new counterplate, but it is not available. I am very disappointed that Sun Joe fails to provide replacement parts that it recommends need replacement.

Love using the chipper
Works as intended.. cuts fast.. very powerful.. cut down 9 small trees, most of the branches got chipped.. would definitely recommend this chipper..

Higher price than many, but Much Better Product
This replaced a cheap electric chipper and is SO much better built. They obviously didn't cheap out on the components. They provide tools (OK, crappy tools) for both assembly And service/maintenance. It is not silent but it Is Much Quieter than the cheap chippers (similar to a table saw). Even the collection bag is higher quality. The main "wear" component is easily replaceable, and inexpensive (and there are even after-market versions!). And, no joke, it has hub caps and cup holders (though the cup holders are probably there As a joke).

Don't Buy This Wood Chipper
Broke the 3rd time I used it. Underpowered and the gear train broke. The chipper power started to decrease and the reverse on the chipper broke. It no longer works and I can't get a replacement or a non store credit (Purchased on Amazon). I don't want anymore SunJoe Products, they are JUNK.

The motor did not last
Worked great for one season but motor quit after one year even though I followed the manuel specs.

Awesome. Better than expected.
One of the best purchases I’ve made in years- way better than expected.
I put this chipper through the works and it handled everything’ thrown at it. I have been trimming and/or cutting down trees and limbs and had a mountain in my backyard. I was trying to determine how to handle the cleanup. Too big for garbage, too expensive and time-consuming to bring to a waste disposal facility. Most of the waste was from an incredibly messy weeping bottlebrush tree with limbs less than 1”. Some was from a few bougainvillea bushes with nasty thorns. Within a few hours, all waste was condensed to a rather small pile of chips. I’m glad I bought this model
as opposed to the cheaper models. This unit ripped 1.5” limbs with branches, small leaves, thorns and seed pods attached…no problem.

Good machine at a reasonable cost.
The SunJoe staff suggested the CJ603E as a good chipper to reduce my corn stalks and other soft and or damp materials. It performed well when I trimmed a pile of hedge branches and leaves. It took a while to chew up all the short items I had cut with my pole trimmer due to the small opening but it did get the job done and with no clogs.

No spare parts at all!
The chipper itself worked fine until it didn't.
The 'input' tunnel split apart - cheap thin flimsy plastic.
Without this part the device is useless.
There is no way to get the spare part.
And that's a huge problem. If you are fine with he unit working during just warranty period - I guess that's fine. Anything after that - if any part of it breaks it becomes just a useless piece of garbage to fill up the landfill.
