Used to be great, now has super crappy constructio
Just bought 2 15 pound crates from a retail store and wow... I used to use petmate carriers almost exclusively and now I'll probably not buy another. Super shoddy construction, cheap, flexible plastic, would offer no protection in a car accident and probably wouldn't hold a determined animal.

Thin plastic crate
I purchases two of these crates to fit into a small space with little headroom. They work well for that purpose. The interior size is fine for short confinement for 6 pounds and under. The plastic is very thin on this crate and feels like it will break or crack easily. It has a basic door with spring latch. I have thought I latched it several times, only to be surprised by my pet being out and about. You can't latch and go, you must double check, as it feels like it's in the aligned holes but it is not. I will call that user error, as I now double check which is just a good idea. Overall, I do not believe this crate will fit the size pet as advertised and I do not feel it is a secure travel crate.

These are a great carrier at a MUCH better price,...easy to snap together,.....I am VERY pleased I bought 6! :-)

Price Doesn't Match Quality
I bought to take my new cat to the vet. He was only 9 lbs at the time so I assumed it would be more than enough for him. Upon bringing him home it literally fell apart and he got loose outside and had to be chased down. I followed the little instructions there were, latched and tightened everything the was to tighten and it still fell apart. And even when the 2 halves stay together the door never stays in place, complete waste of money!

Flimsy and unsafe
Doesn’t assemble safely and falls apart when lifted, because the plastic latch locks are flimsy and useless.
Will be returning.
