What are this melamine boar's fire spread rating(FSR) and smoke developed classifications(SDC)?

The particle board used in the making of our shelving is not fire resistant. It is graded as "Class C", which has a Flame Spread Rating of 76-200 and a Smoke development classification of 450 Maximum.

Would you make a cut in this shelf
Hi! Yes, you can absolutely cut into melamine. We recommend using a finishing blade (with a table saw, miter saw or circular saw) with the biggest number of teeth possible.
Gently insert your blade in the panel, ideally with your good face up. A good tip to minimize chipping is also to apply masking tape on where you'll be cutting on the board.

Low density melamine panel/shelf
2023 - bought the melamine panel/shelf for building a small cabinet. These melamine panels are far inferior to the melamine type panels of 30 years ago. The core is a light density chip board. If holes are needed (for shelf pegs or tools, etc) when drilling the core wood just disintegrates leaving a rough hole (not solid and smooth). When water hits an exposed edge or even a corner it is absorbed like a sponge and the panel blows apart with extensive swelling (melamine splits off, integrity drops about 50%).
