Description
This upright freezer from Whirlpool has an 18-cu. ft. capacity and convenient up-front electronic temperature controls to let you set the ideal temperature for your needs. A fast freeze option lets you freeze large amounts of food quickly by driving temperatures 10 degrees colder than the lowest setting. This freezer provides frost-free operation and is also equipped with a temperature alarm that notifies you when the temperature rises. The LED lighting uses less energy than incandescent lighting and provides excellent visibility, while an optional icemaker makes sure there is plenty of ice on hand for when you need it. This freezer has 4 adjustable shelves and 4 door bins with a pizza pocket.

Still waiting for a repair technician
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this freezer a month ago... and it was on backorder. So, I waited a month for delivery. On day 1 we heard a humming and buzzing noise from the unit once it was plugged in. We figured it was just warming up and would quiet itself down after the unit was chilled. Nope. It's been perpetually getting louder with each passing day and we're still waiting for the service technician to arrive. The earliest appointment they had was a week out from the request date. And it's at the point where I plugged my old freezer back in because I'm fearful this one will fail soon.
If you read that last sentence, you'll notice I kept my old freezer. I only replaced the old, working, 100% functional Whirlpool freezer because the company decided to redesign these built-in units with new door handles... which are larger, mounted higher, and shaped differently. So my fridge/freezer pair no longer match! They could have easily created a new door handle shape that fit the old location and I would have only been forced to upgrade my freezer door handle when the original fridge died. But nope, they wanted to force me into buying both units again.
Which has caused Whirlpool to lose any repeat business from me. Your short-sightedness is astounding... and why would you send me a link to create a review when you know my new unit is not functioning normally? Your business practices seem to need some revamping.

Poor quality, poor salesmanship
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially purchased in August 2023, defective as ice maker wire harness buried behind rear panel, replacement 4 months later also defective, final replacement will not connect to recommended ice maker which I purchased, after almost 8 months and several trips to the store and 12 phone calls, I was told the freezer was not built for an ice maker, this is after I had spent quite a bit of money and time building the surrounding cabinets to fit. I am now stuck with a freezer without an ice maker. Keep in mind this was sold as advertised with the ability to hook up to an ice maker.

Love the look and frost free

I also had to get this model due to the space in my kitchen. I was not impressed by the reviews and hope that things have improved on the newer models. Too new to rate.

Wonderful product

I do not recommend this freezer
Within a year of purchasing this freezer it started to act-up. The freezer became noisy and the temperature would fluctuate. After a few months, the freezer died and we lost all of our frozen food. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this freezer.
