Water Softener
I bought just two days ago installed it yesterday, install was very easy and straightforward, I do wish they would include a Manuel with the softener, and would be nice if they included water softener cleanser with the purchase of the softener or at least a discount coupon.

Easy to setup!
I have been well pleased with my Whirlpool Water Softener so far. We have well water that's really hard and within two days hardness was pretty much non-existent! I would have given it 5 stars but the packaging was subpar and the first one I received had been treated roughly during shipping, so the brine well was cracked from the bottom to the top. They're not packaged well enough to be laid on their side for shipping. I had to reinstall the brine well in the second unit because it had been laid on its side and the bottom of the well had popped out of it's bracket.

Very easy to program
Had to replace my old Whirlpool which was over 20 years old. The new one had identical hookup after all these years . A couple hours I had the old one hauled out and the new one installed and programmed.

Not sure it is working 100% for us
I love the unit itself as the all in one unit is wonderful for a small house on the farm. But, I don't think it is working properly for us. We only have 2 people in the house and we don't use a lot of water. We have only used not even a full bag of salt since the original install 4 months ago. We took out all of the salt and blew through all the lines, etc. The water feels sort of soft, but we still have a lot of white residue everywhere. We've used the softener cleaner and cleaning steps and still white residue . Our well drilling team said our water only had a hardness of 15. We even upped the hardness setting on the unit to 30 to try it out. Still white residue.

Part defect can be simply fixed for a working unit
Bought this water softener to replace another. Did read the reviews, but a flip of the coin had me going to Rona. The boxes looked like they were re-taped at the store. Sometimes that is by the staff opening it up to show a customer of what is inside, sometimes people open them up to look (and possibly lift some parts), sometimes the parts are cannibalized by staff for prior sales support (?). Picked one in the far back, still an ad-hoc tape job, but figured I've done enough of these I can handle whatever happens.
Note1: The user manual was missing. No biggie for me as I knew there was one online and have familiar.
Note2: Once all set up the unit would not properly run through its cycle of fill and drain. As it turns out, the valve drain (Fig. 4, page 7 of 72 of the user manual) was highly restricted. The hole on the grommet side was OK, the hole for the barbed side was OK, but the two did not meet. Barely. This is a production manufacturing problem. So I drilled out the interior hole so the drain could flow properly and all is working.
I don't have the time to write a dissertation to Whirlpool and RONA on addressing this - don't blow it off - fix it so deviations in the manufacturing process still produce a quality and functional part. Can just imagine how many other units are out there with unhappy customers or failed units which attempted to run with this blockage and hard water in the control valve.
The three star rating reflects the lack of product integrity management at RONA and the lack of manufacturing quality control. That assessment is not up for debate. Fix those two elements, then RONA and Whirlpool will have happy customers.
