What do I do with my Vita raised garden bed in preparation for our cold snowy winter? Should I put a tarp over it? Thanks.
Our vinyl products are designed with four seasons in mind. They do not need to be dis-assembled and stored or covered in any way. However, some customers feel an added protective cover like a tarp is acceptable. From the harsh northern winters to the heat of the south and everything in between, Vita products will hold up very well.

Can they be stacked
Hello, thank you for your interest in our products. We do not recommend stacking the Urbana 4x4x11. We do offer it in a 4x4x22 inch height (VT17601 the post and C channels are longer and provide better support for the boards). The Classic (white VT17108) 4x4x11 garden bed can be stacked.

Does the garden box have a base ?
Do your garden beds have a bottom?
No, our composting gardens & garden beds do not have a bottom. They are designed to be placed on grass or soil. This will allow for proper drainage and give access to beneficial insects like earthworms. Most of our elevated gardens have floorboards. Check product specifications.

Are the side panels rigid and strong? What does it weigh?
The side panels are rigid and strong. We added additional support by staking some junctures as we combined 3 kits to make a 12’ X 12’ raised garden.

I got 4 recently through online shopping. Products arrived in time. Upon opening the boxes, one box had broken edge for all the 4 boards inside. Design and style are good, but the materials are flimsy and feel brittle, and I doubt the longer term durability.
The board wall should be at least 1-1.5 mm more thicker. The current board wall is just a bit thicker than a couple of A4 paper. With a little bit unintentional abuse (which is very likely from yard work), plus the brittle nature of the material, you might end up ripping the boards at some points. The broken board edges of open box have already spoken for it. Do not buy until they have improved material quality.

A good product
I have now purchased a total of 3 kits. My garden is now 12” X 12”. The depth of 11” has worked for all vegetable plants. The product finishes are attractive. Its challenging to prevent all panels from bowing out when filled with dirt. We did resolve the bowing by adding additional stakes here at some junctures
