Definitely not universal
This is not universal, or even close. For the price it should work, but I now need an adapter to use with my adapter. I am trying to connect a 5" Surface Grinding Dust Shroud DWE46152 to a 2-1/2" Tug-A-Long Locking Hose. So it's in the order of: Dust Shroud, "Universal Adapter", Large Hose Adapter, Duct Tape, Hose - and each part of that is expensive, except for the duct tape. If there is a better part number to connect the shroud and hose, please comment it here.

Does not connect directly to DXV04T
This connector is less than a sixteenth of an inch off from fitting the hose of the DXV04T that I bought it for. ??? I would understand it being a full size off requiring an adapter but its so close without fitting. I'm confused by DeWalt's plan for these hose connections.

Provide a list of tools this adapter fits
Hi Dewalt,
You're the designer and manufacturer of both the tools and this adapter. Therefore providing a full list of the tools with which it connects should be as simple as a look up. Please provide this list in the web page. This sort of information should be automatic.
"Fits a variety" is not acceptable from the designer and manufacturer.

2 years of service ended!
The connector doesn’t seemed to be well designed and tested. After only two years of
use the vibration from sander unlocks connector and it falls off sander during use. I could tape it on but I could do that with the hose without the dmv9000. I will purchase another one and cut the old one up to see if I can fix new before it fails.

Works perfectly
I don’t understand the negative reviews - this fits perfectly on the DCW210 and threads right onto the hose from the DCV581H. Quality is good and it locks into place on the sander.

Does not work with Dewalt DA Sander
I bought this to use with my DCW210B 5” DA Sander and although they have similar attachments, this will NOT rotate and secure to the sander. I guess they aren’t similar enough. I’ll be returning it. I should’ve read the reviews first. I’ve also seen a lot of negative Dewalt reviews lately and I am starting to change over my power tools to Milwaukee

Absolute waste of money. Just got a brand new dewalt random orbit sander, and new dewal vacuum. Just assumed I could connect the vacuum to my new sander like I could with a older Dewalt sander I borrowed.... nope, need some type adaptor, annoying but ok. Order the adaptor. STILL DOESN'T FIT!!!! Come on Dewalt, what is this?

Does not work as advertized
regardless if the tail end works or doesnt work with various vac hoses, the friggin front end does nothing if attached to the Dewalt DCW210 cordless random orbital sander. why is this thing made and sold?! you would think after all the returns and headache they would just pull this thing from their offerings. i specifically purchased the dewalt sander i mentioned so i could connect it to a non-dewalt sander of my choosing with this adapter. will be returning the used sander as well. not my problem.
