Is this unit Racoon proof?
Hi Compost love,
The Tumbleweed Worm Cafe model is not racoon proof. the lid is a Snap-on connection, which could possibly be disconnected by a racoon.

Can this unit be used indoors in the winter months? Say in the furnace room?

Yes this unit can be used and/or moved indoor during the colds winter months. By doing this you will allow the composting worms to thrive and continue with the composting process. What extra do you need other than worms to start

In addition to purchasing compost worms (also known as Red Wiggler worms) to would be an added bonus to purchase the Tumbleweed compost conditioner (part 000019) helps neutralize acidity and balance pH levels so your worms can digest larger quantities of food waste faster.

Simple / Easy to Harvest Compost
Have had this for 2 months and already harvested twice. So simple and easy in comparison to a traditional one bin system. Beautiful compost as expected - superior to any compost system I've tried. Ordering our 2nd one today !
