can these tubes be wired direct to 120 volts with no ballast ?
These tubes can be wired direct to 120 volts with no ballast. Especially if the ballast is older, the direct connection 120v is the best choice. And tt can avoid the damage of the tube due to the aging of the ballast.

Can I use these bulbs in a T12 fixture, G13 base? Will they work with a magnetic ballast? Confused about the Daylight rating.I thought daylight was 5000k??
Yes the bulb will fit, have an electrician rewire the G13 base to bypass any ballast and add a fuse.

I have just now received delivery of my light order and it says on the package only operates on electronic ballast. Can they be direct wired and if so why were no instructions included?
Our T8 tubes can work with or without electronic ballast. However, Electrical knowledge is needed to wire the tubes directly (Ballast removed or bypass ballast), like Electrical safety knowledge. Is the lumen specification of 2100 correct? This seems low for 18 watts.
It is brightest for 18w T8 tube. Most 16-18w T8 tubes are only 1300-1800lumens in the market.

Can the Toronto LED 18W B13 Base T8 Tube Retrofit light bulbs be installed in an existing fixture at 120 volt direct wiring without using the old ballast?
Yes, our T8 tube can work with with or without ballast. It can direct wire (bypass ballast).

The bulbs are of high quality and nice and bright. These also work with, or without a ballast. This is great news if your current ballast is burnt out.

Just know what you're doing...
These tubes are well made, were well packed for shipping, and bright. But the instructions are translated poorly and are pretty brief--much like all of the LED tubes out there! Some things to know:
1. These are single end tubes, not double end.
2. They require un-shunted tombstones. Make sure to check your current tombstones correctly to confirm this.
3. Instead of marking the tube with the end to connect to your mains, they mark the end not to connect. It's a nice glass-half-full-glass-half-empty bit of fuzziness.
Once you get things straight in your head they install easily, but if you open up your fixture and see a ballast with red, blue, and yellow wires, and jumpers shunting your tombstones (or possibly not if they're internally shunted) and electrical isn't your thing--call an electrician or return them for double-end tubes.
3 stars for the poor instructions since these are being sold to the average do-it-yourselfer who might only realize they're in too deep when they don't pass the smoke test.
Would I recommend this product to a friend? yes, if they understand electrical!

Great lights!
We bought over two hundred of the tubes for our building and they worked really well for bypass ballast, and we tested them and found that they were made of fire-resistant material. We will order more for our projects later.

Poor quality
Bought these last year and within very limited use, one tube started to burn and almost caught fire and ended up stinking up my garage . I have since replaced them with a brand name. I plan to return these dangerous Toronto LED.s for a refund.

Great lights
Bought the 12 pack and they were in perfect condition when arrived. Installed 4 on the weekend and the work great. Nice bright light. Perhaps too bright. lol. On the website it says they are for dry conditions but the bulbs say suitable for damp location so bathroom installation is O.K. also.

Great TUBE
I have installed 10 of then around the house. Some fixtures still have the ballast and others I wired direct to 120VAC. All of them work great.
