Is this suitable for backyard ice rink?
No. It's only "medium" durability (which i didn't realize prior to purchase. I would recommend a "heavy" duty tarp. We have had several little holes already, either from being pressed against the wood frame or from mice/rodents nibbling on it. We did not have this issue in previous years with a heavy duty tarp.

Exactly the same experience with ice rink. This tarp is garbage.

DO NOT USE FOR RINK
Not water proof as described…brand new right out of package, laid out and flooded rink immediately, 3 days later entire rink is drained. Waste of a tarp, and a couple hundred dollars of water.
