Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Design for an Electric Corded Lawn Mower The design of this mower and all like them have a flaw in the blade/cooling fan design. While cutting grass, the dirt, grass and anything else gets sucked up into the motor housing and Will cause the motor to burn up after just a few times you mow your lawn. So far Lowe's, Black and Decker and other electric corded mowers use the same flawed design. Don't buy any corded electric mowers with this design. I originally had a Black and Decker corded mower that lasted me over 20 years. This new design is crap!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this mower This mower will die before the year is up but if you register it black and decker has a 2 year warranty. They send a new one to your house!works for me. In Phoenix there is a lot of dirt so spray the lawn with water before you mow so the dirt doesn’t clog the motor DUH

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My second corded mower -- loved the first! My first B&D corded mower lasted 12 years with one tune-up about six years into its use. I loved it and just bought a new one. It is light enough to steer around trees and irregular garden edges, much better than a friend's self-propelled gas mower. I don't mind wrangling the cord. Gas mowers are environmentally harmful. Go electric!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Switch Cable broke within the first few weeks Bought this mower last year and sat in the box, the switch cable broke within the first 2 weeks of use and it cost a little over 36 to replace it. Don't think I will purchase a lawn mower again from black and decker

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost 5 years and still operating like new I own two MM2000 type 2 models. I purchased my first about 2015 for my vacation home located on a small flat parcel. I purchased my second in 2016 for my main home located on a hilly ¼ acre of property. Having spent a lifetime owning and operating gas powered mowers I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect from an electric one. I have been very impressed and satisfied with both. The motor is quite powerful and very quiet. It gives as clean a cut as any gas powered mowers I have owned but without all the maintenance and added expense issues associated with gas power. I have used them under normal conditions and also in overgrown, wet conditions. I have never had a problem with either one. Operation, maintenance and storage are easy due to its light weight and easy handle folding. After almost 5 years of use and some abuse both are still operating at peck performance. If I ever need to replace either one it will be with another Black and Decker.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good, strong mower but weak in durability I bought this mower in Sept. '19 because I had two of the previous model (M1800) that gave great service for 5-6 years each consecutively. I read the many reviews stating early motor "death" but gambled that most were due to too small of gauge for the length of the extension cord used. Well this one died the first weekend of Aug. '20, not quite one year of service. But it wasn't the motor that failed. The motor doesn't drive the blade's shaft directly but through some kind of offset "gearbox" where I'm guessing the blade "brake/clutch" is housed (don't know for sure because the included owner's manual doesn't have an exploded parts view). I believe the failure is in this "gearbox", either the blade "brake/clutch" won't disengage or a bearing has failed, because the motor turns VERY slowly for a second or two and stops (overheated?) and won't turn again for 3-5 minutes. The unit is still under (2 yr.) warranty; however, the nearest service center is 75 miles away. The gas for two round-trips to drop off and pick up plus the time away from work would cost me more than a new mower. A shame because the previous model performed so dang well for 5-6 years per unit, and under heavy use too.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage mower It's made really cheap and has fallen apart in 2 seasons......wheel clips rust and then falls off.
