Impressive
I actually bought this to get into some of the smaller areas between vehicles of my rather large driveway to supplement my 28 inch gas powered blower. I have about a 10 car driveway and 150' of sidewalk that gets the bulk of the mess from the street plowed onto it.
First storm, about 3" of medium weight snow, I was able to do my driveway completely. I could have used the bigger gas blower but I wanted to see how this would perform. No problem at all. I was able to do one pass up and down on my 150 foot stretch of sidewalk as well, it was down to a single bar but I still had some juice left. It's very easy to maneuver and is impressively powerful. My only complaint is you have to manually adjust the angle of the height of the discharge on the chute itself, as there is no console control for that. You can only control the left and right direction from the console. But this is forgivable given the low price of the unit. I'm guessing this was about 25-30 minutes of usage. I was able to walk pretty quickly because it wasn't a heavy load for the machine to handle.
A couple weeks later we got about 6" of pretty wet snow. My daughter who is 14 and very athletic, wanted to help so she used the snow Joe while I used my big 28 in gas blower. With the two batteries she was able to do probably about half the driveway while I was doing the sidewalk and end of the driveway where the plow built up a bank a foot and a half or so of very heavy icy slush. But the kicker was I lost my auger drive belt on my gas machine doing this, so I took a couple of batteries I had from my other sun Joe products and popped them in this 18" unit, and while it did struggle a little bit, it was able to finish the rest of the driveway I couldn't get with the bigger blower, and also get through a bit of the heavy wet slush at the end of the driveway that that killed my 28" blower. At this point it's throwing the wet slushy stuff about 8', but that was enough to clear the driveway. My gas blower was probably only getting about double that distance. There were two or three times where the blower couldn't handle the load and it stopped. But it started up immediately again and when I took a narrower path of snow it was able to take care of things. I estimate we got about 20 minutes of runtime on the sets of four amp hour batteries I used at this point in this heavy snow. Again more than sufficient given the weight of the snow and the price point of the unit.
So I came Away Very impressed with this thing, And that it could do the work of my larger snowblower although with a little bit more effort because it only clears 18 inches, and it doesn't have huge batteries. But it's very light and maneuverable.
If you regularly get 6-8" of snow per storm I would probably get something more heavy duty. But for even a typical Southern New England winter, especially if you have a four car driveway or smaller, I think this would take care of pretty much all of your needs.

Think twice about purhasing
I like the machine, but when the batteries stopped working, I contacted Snowjoe for replacement under warranty and the only sent me one correct battery and not two. I tied purchasihg a second and now that one doesn't work. This situation would not have happened if they would have sent me two batteries that were under warranty. I have over 100 emails to SJ regarding this issue beginning March 2023 up until the summer, then they send me only one battery.

Would Make a Good Child's Toy if Safer
My son purchased this snow blower for me since I am in my late 70s and shoveling snow is hard on my body. I had to tell my son that this machine was not worth the money he spent on it. The front acts like a snowplow pushing snow in front of the machine. It will not even work on wet, heavy snow. It is cheaply made. On the plus side the batteries charge quickly and last a long time and it is lightweight.. However, except for safety concerns, this would make a good child's toy. I am very disappointed with this product. It does not work for northern Utah snows.

Great machine, even greater Customer Service
This is my second one. The first one worked great clearing my small driveway (3 cars single file) and walkways (about 150') and never ran out of juice. It did struggle with wet snow but so did my previous more powerful plug-in blower. Having no cord, it was far more maneuverable than the corded one. It was very easy to assemble and to use.
Now we come to Customer Service. Snow blower #1 was stored in the basement, the basement flooded with 2.5 feet of water while I was away. Water drained from the unit for 2 days. While the batteries and charger were clearly not useable, I contacted Customer Service to see if the snow blower would survive. They said, you registered it, it is under warranty, we'll send you a shipping label. Once it is on its way, we will ship you a new one!! And that is what happened. I am still amazed!

Dissappointed in the machine (as a replacement)
This is terrible! It was a replacement for an in warranty machine that stopped working. It is extremely difficult to hold the ON handle for more than a few minutes. It has trouble with just a couple of inches of wet/heavy snow. More of it ended up packed down than blown. I don't mind blowing my driveway a couple of times a day when the snow is heavy, but to have to shovel after just blowing it once to avoid ice and ruts, that's not ok with me. I went from an easy hold handle and toggle switch for the blower nozzle to a difficult to hold handle and a crank (that seems quite flimsy)

Light weight and works well.
This unit is light weight, easy to use. I couldn't get the machine to run more than ten feet in -11 degree temps this morning. It just quit, and shut off after a few seconds of use. The batteries were fully charged, and showed green. I brought the batteries inside and let warm them warm to room temperature. Then they worked fine after that. I used it previously on 2 occasions without any issues, but the weather was in the low to mid thirties. I keep the charger in the garage and store the batteries nearby after charging, so maybe it was just too cold this morning. The only other issue was that a screw holding the crank to the snow discharge chute fell out, and got lost in the snow the 2nd time I used it. I replaced the screw with a cotter pin, and works fine.

Nice, light weight machine.
This unit is light weight and works well in powder and light wet snow. It worked great the first two times I used it, on 2 inch snowfall. I keep the batteries and charger in my garage. I recharged the batteries after use, then remove them from the charger and store them nearby in the garage. The temp hit -10 this morning. It was pretty cold in the garage. I took out the Snow Joe and it didn't make it 10 feet down the driveway, before it quit. I couldn't get it to run more that a few feet at a time and it stopped. The batteries showed a full charge, but they were freezing cold. I brought the batteries inside and let them warm up for about 30-45 minutes. I tried again, and it ran great (with the room temperature batteries). The only other complaint is that one of the screws holding the crank for the discharge chute fell out while in use, and got lost in the snow. I replaced it with a cotter pin, and it works fine.
