I used a few of these recently on a wheelchair ramp and they worked beautifully, as intended.

Not to be used for horizontal angles.
I bought these thinking that they woulld work for my three triangle shaped areas that all have odd angles. The two small tabs work for horizontal but the adjustable bottoms do not. Not sure if only using two small one hole tabs is smart for 2x6 joists on a deck. I customized to work using tin snips and blocking but am returning the balance as they are only meant for vertical angles if to be used safely. And I have been in construction for 20 years. I recommend if using for simple rafters only. I did not read on product as the description I do believe said could be used with joists, my bad.
