It works best when put on stairs of a similar colouration and wood pattern, like oak or laminate stairs. The nosing helps decrease wear on steps. It has the durability and ease of installation that comes with aluminum. It is easy to trim to the appropriate length to match your stairs. The aluminum stair nosing is 0.3 inch wide and 6 ft long.

Does not actually fit 12mm boards
Despite the label saying it will fit up to 12mm laminate boards, it actually does not. The metal tongue on the nosing is not long enough to click into the plastic groove when a 12mm laminate board is in between them. Had to return all of them.
