Description
Take care of your landscape with Scotts natural cedar mulch. It increases the soil's moisture retention so that shrubs and bushes flourish. ColourGuard technology protects the mulch colour from fading to provide season-long vibrancy. Scotts cedar mulch helps suppress weeds by blocking their access to sunlight. Ingredients of this black cedar mulch come from forests. The mulch is also available in red or brown, and one bag covers up to 12 square feet of bedding area at 2 inches depth. At 3-inch depth application, the mulch covers 8 square feet, and at 4-inch depth, the mulch covers 6 square feet of the bedding area.

Manure smell
I just put down a bag in one garden and it reeks of manure. Is this normal? I can’t imagine putting all 10 down!

Très gros copeaux
J'ai acheté cet article pour faire mes plates-bandes avant il y a un mois et je suis très satisfait de la couleur noire qui survit bien aux pluies fortes. La taille des copeaux fait que ça couvre mieux que le paillis conventionnel, ordinairement plus "haché mince".

where is the black?
bought this late May. By mid June the "black mulch" had turned totally brown. I miscalculated the amount, so in another area of the same garden I used it. It kept it's black colour 2 months later, and it didn't sprout anything unwanted, unlike the NatureScapes, which sprouted bits of grass seedlings all around my garden bed. That has created a ton of extra work!

Last year I bought 20 bags of the mulch and I was happy with the product .
This year I bought 4 bags to top up the garden .The product no at all line last years .There were very few wood chips and the remainder shredded fiber like material with an oil like odour .

Dries quickly to brown
I bought 14 bags of this to remulch my garden area. Previous product was great...not this time. Dried in a very short time to brown!! Is a lighter weight than past purchases and dries far more quickly....so it blows away in a medium wind (very messy) and becomes a great litter box for the neighbourhood cats. I either need all of my receipts OR the bar code from every bag to get refunded from Scott’s. Doesn’t even compensate for the time and effort to put it in. This is not a RONA issue at all....it’s a Scott’s issue. Very disappointed in their customer service.
