Nothing works + you need more gear
Okay, first, I'm mad at Rona - I bought this TODAY (Mar 27, 2021) and paid $249, and online it is $209, $40 cheaper. Second, it's kind of hard to believe any serious company would make this. The instructions tell you to go online for Smart Home setup, and online tells you to refer to your "smart home manual" whatever that is. If you want to buy something that insults you all the way along, then buy this ridiculous product. First of all, this thing is like drilling through cobalt with cow bells attached. When you use a code to unlock the lock, the noise this generates is enough to take it off and throw it in the garbage. The mechanism for unlocking is like 4 seconds, eee eee eeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeee you'd think fort Knox dominos trap lock is being unlocked it sounds so ridiculous.
Second, to integrate with Google home, you need some specialty hardware hub, good luck figuring out what the that is and I have no idea what it costs nor will I buy one on top of $250 I paid. A note on the box would have been nice.
Third, and maybe this is the cherry on top, the PROGRAMMING CODE doesn't work. It comes with its own special programming code which apparently is the wrong code for this lock. You're told to 'reset' to factory setting, but since I just installed the batteries, this thing is defective right out of the box.
What does that mean? Well, it means that I have a giant lock that sounds like a train crossing opening and takes away all my privacy when I come home or leave, which works only on the 2 codes that are preprogrammed, Bluetooth doesn't work, home integration not possible without more wasted money, and I spent $270 with tax on a brick that is now attached to my door. Oh, but I have one key. I had 3 keys for the old lock. And oh, it's $40 less the same day I bought it.
It's this kind of thing that makes people lose their sanity.
