Why is there mould growing under the cover? Tried baking soda, VIM, VINEGAR, and other cleaners. All to no avail.
You must firstly understand that mold behaves in a similar way to a mushroom. Mold needs oxygen, food, warmth and moisture to survive and grow. Inside of the Santevia Countertop is unfortunately a perfect spawning ground for mold as there is air (oxygen), good mineralized water (food) and moisture, and warmth from being in your living space.
This fact makes the Santevia Countertop system a good leading indicator of any mold problem in your home because it is a fertile ground for mold to spawn. We do strongly advise you to take further precautions in your home to watch for mold in other common locations such as window sills or shower / bath tub surrounds. Mold presence poses a serious health risk which we are sure you would not ever want.
To best address the control of mold within the Santevia Countertop system, we recommend a regular inspection and cleaning with household white vinegar that is very effective at killing mold. Simply soak the parts with visible mold in a solution of 1 capful of white vinegar to about 4L of tap water for 15 minutes. Wash the parts after the vinegar solution soak with a mild dish detergent and a thorough rinse with tap water. Allow the parts to dry out before re-assembling into the Countertop system. Do not wash the filter parts including the Ceramic Pre-Filter, the 5-Stage or Fluoride Filter, and the Mineral Stones in vinegar.

Are there replacement filter cartridges available, and how much do they cost, and are they stocked by Lowes Canada, or do they come from outside the country, on an order-by-order basis ?
