Beautiful Refrigerator but has functional issues
We recently renovated our kitchen and bought this refrigerator. We had used a similar 4 door flex from Samsung in our previous kitchen and were happy with our purchase. We had a checklist of what we wanted in a fridge and this model seems to check all the boxes and we were excited about this new look with the option for all black glass panels to go with the black kitchen look i wanted.
However, we were in for a big surprise which left us disappointed and frustrated. Hoping that these issues will help someone else before they make this choice.
1 - This is marketed as counter depth but the panels add additional good 2-3 inches to the door beyond the regular counter depth look and feel. So if you are looking for a counter depth fridge then this is definitely not one
2 - Due to the thickness of the door, the door hits the cabinetry around it every time it opens up so we had to pull the fridge out by good 1-1.5 inches so the doors don't hit the cabinets on the side. This is a bad product design because then the expectation is that this fridge needs to either stand alone on the wall with no cabinets around it or have a good 2-3 of gap around the perimeter of the fridge. We noticed this after the installation and kitchen was done and had to spend additional money for our kitchen to make a broader panel to avoid this but it did not help. This was not the case with the older 4 door flex model with had so we did not even factor this issue during the purchase.
3 - the inside shelves seem very shallow and the top shelf space is not usable as it is a very short height and cannot be changed as opposed to my previous model where it was more flexible and configurable height
4 - the freezer section just has one basket. I prefer baskets in freezer section where i can load bags of frozen items but this is just individual preference so might work for others who don't mind pull out open shelves instead.
Overall, i am disappointed as i loved my old samsung which lead me to buy this model but i cannot go back on this purchase as there is a hefty restocking fee cost so i will continue using this for the next couple of years until this breaks down or until i have enough money to buy a new true counter depth fridge which can work in my space :)
