3 Dozen Beetles trapped in 24 Hours
These traps really work! Within 24 hours of hanging on 15 July dozens of beetles were caught. ONLY Japanese Beetles are attracted to the pheromone bait and slide down the slippery surfaces of the vanes and bags to get trapped live in the bottom. Empty the bags frequently directly into a pail of soapy water to kill the beetles - don't leave them in the trap too long or you will end up with a smelly mess! Bags are reusable but the kit comes with three to replace when soiled. Extra lures and 3 bag packs are sold separately at Rona, so the yellow vanes can be used for several seasons.
I mounted my traps close to the house and gardens for convenience this year, and while they attract the Japanese Beetles these were already present and eating holes in a variety of plants. Easy to use, very effective - there were 6 more beetles in the trap by the time I got back to take the photos, and environmentally friendly, trapping only this specific pest.
Now if Safer's could only make a similar trap for the Emerald Ash Borer...

Ça fonctionne, attire les scarabées, mais aussi beaucoup de mouches! De plus, les petits trous dans le bas du sac sont un peu trop gros... certains scarabées s'en échappent! J'ai dû mettre des collants pour les boucher, puis refaire des trous plus petits pour laisser égoûter l'eau de pluie.

The attractant definitely works to trap the beatles! I was shocked how effective this was. Checked the bag after a week to find about a pound of beetles trapped in the bag. You need to place the bag upwind a couple meters away from the plants you are trying to protect. Our Rose of Sharon was covered in beetles before we used this. Now there are only a couple dozen left after a week.

Wowza - Excellent Trap
I have tried several others traps but this one attracts them and they fall in. They do fly around a bit but eventually they drop in. This trap caught more than ALL the other three I had set up in the same vicinity.
