Description
Use 40-grit Gator sanding discs for rough sanding of wood or paint removal. The alumina oxide present on the discs' sandpaper makes them non-toxic, dust-free and resistant to harsh materials. A hook and loop sanding disc attachment method increases the durability of the discs.

Go with Diablo 5-inch Ultra Coarse Finish 40 Grit
I purchase Gator 40 grit 2 years back and was very satisfied. They have changed the product however. The disks I purchased 2 years ago were grey/green. Now they are red, and perform relatively poorly. I am sanding off paint from shingles and the disks gum up or become ineffective after a relatively short time. The previous Gator disks lasted considerably longer (same house- same conditions etc.).
I took the advice of the other reviewer and purchased Diablo 5-inch Ultra Coarse Finish 40 Grit Hook and Loop and found them vastly superior - lasting longer before needing to be swapped out. The job is going much quicker now and I actually have to be more careful about not taking the wood beneath the paint due to how aggressive the disk is (which is what I want to get the job done asap)

Great Sanding Disk pack
Bought this bulk pack of Sanding Disks for heavy removal of wood and metal. Works great with my Makita 5" sander. Highly recommended for surface prep before finishing it with 120 grit or higher disks.
