These hex head lag screws feature a coarse and sharp thread point to penetrate pre-drilled pilot holes. Install the screws easily with a nut driver. Each box contains 50 screws. One lag hardware screw measures 1 in L.

First screw I tried had its head sheared off with my battery powered driver. This is in hardwood, with pilot hole pre-drilled. Box is marked as "Grade 2" but this was not in the online description. Now I know that grade 2 is the lowest grade of screw material.
