Can this replace a Tempress II shower system
We are unfamiliar with the Tempress II shower systems, and Pfister tub/shower trims are specific to Pfister valves. You may want to contact the Tempress II shower systems manufacturer for available trim options.

Poor Installation Instructions
Poor Installation Instructions means that you can install this with the default "warm" setting that limits the amount of hot water you can get, which, depending on your hot water heater setting, may result in a barely comfortable shower. Regardless of the part number on your box, and the part numbers printed on the installation instructions, be sure to read all included documents (event those that appear to not be associated with your purchase) so you can understand there is little ring that limits hot water and can be adjusted to get more hot water. This may save you from turning up your hot water heater, getting near scalding water out of your other taps, realizing that was a daft solution, rechecking the instructions, still not seeing any adjustment features due to the titles of the various instructions, consider ripping it all out and replacing it, and finally resorting to the internet to find out the issue. Perhaps the proof readers for installation instructions at Pfister can assume the role of an ordinary DIY person not familiar with this product or shower valves at all, and write instructions that are present "key points" more clearly. Other than that, this appears to be a good product so far.

1st and maybe last Pfister
Installed it, but the water is not coming all the way up to temp. Seems to be mixing incorrectly and only getting fairly warm, but not hot. Instructions do not include a way to change mix.

Defective Design
It's a beautiful look, and I don't have any of the spray problems mentioned in the other review, but when installing the handle, the washers holding the turning part of the handle into the neck of it popped loose and the handle pushed out. I can pull my handle completely out of the bit attached to the wall. When I brought this up with Pfister, they agreed it was a defect covered by the warranty and sent me a new one.
Lo and behold, the new one had the exact same problem.
There is something wrong with the design of the brass valve and the handle, and in screwing the handle in fully, it overpowers the washers and pushes the turn lever out. My plumber tried multiple times to fix this when he installed it, and when I got the replacement, I spent an hour trying to get it to work with absolutely no luck. Everything works fine, and as long as you don't pull the handle perpendicular to the wall, you can't even tell it's defective, but I have to wonder how the heck this managed to pass a design review.

Cannot control water pressure
I installed new valve and this bath-tub hardware. I wish the lever is capable of controlling the water pressure; it can only turn to control water temperature but not water pressure.

This is a nice looking faucet combo for tub/shower set-up. Pleased with all except the spray pattern on the tub spout. The water comes out in all directions and tends to aim back towards the wall where I most certainly don't want it. There is not an aerator or anything to control the spray. Everything works fine, it's just not ideal about the spray pattern. The shower spray is fine on all settings. Even though it was a good price, i can't really recommend it.
