Can you use it on a covered wood deck that is open or does it get too hot and burn the deck?
You’ll be fine to use it on your covered deck. Our deck is covered, about 8 ft high and we use it just on our patio rug. I have never noticed the legs getting hot.

Can you roast hot dogs over this fire pit?
You could, it’s propane but then every time you used it afterwards, it would smell like hot dogs.

Do the lava rocks fall out of the bear cutouts when transporting with lid fastened? They look big enough for the rocks to slip through.

As advertised, very happy.
Very nice unit, the folding legs are handy when space is tight. The locking lid is the best carry
method and there is just enough lava rock supplied. We have only used ours a few times, we will see how long it lasts... I got mine on sale, but even at reg price you will be happy.

Bought this product on line. Arrived in good time. Easy to set up and provides a great addition to our patio. Good flame and gives off good heat.
