"Olympic Maximum" clear sealant provides superior protection for wood. Its unique formula penetrates deep, enhancing the natural look of wood while it strengthens, protects, and conditions wood fibers. Recommended for use on exterior wood decks, fences, siding, railings, outdoor furniture and other wood surfaces. May be used on new wood, pressure-treated wood, weathered wood, and wood with a weathered solvent-based clear or semi-transparent stain. Low VOC. 3.78 L.

Are 2 coats recommended?
I am not sure about the company recommendation but I find one generous coat brushed in works well. I once tried two coats but found the second one didn't soak into the wood and left the surface looking painted

This is NOT clear
Just a heads up, this says it is clear but it is anything but. Comes out a Carmel color. I stained part of a cedar deck and had to stop as I did not want to color the cedar.

Closest to natural for our Cedar Fence
We bought this product last month & we’re very happy with the outcome. We covered our new horizontal cedar fencing to keep it waterproofed for winter but didn’t want too much of a colour stain. Many cedar stains are very orange but this was a lovely natural colour called “ CLEAR”. We have received many compliments on our fence !!
It has a slight brown colour in the can but it’s the closest to a true natural wood look. Easy to apply but don’t drip on lower boards & if you do just quickly wipe with the brush to even out the stain.
We did one really good coat. Really get into the wood knots cause it absorbs more.

Great Product
I have been using this on our cedar deck for a number of years. I have used several other products but this is by far the best. It is so much easier to use than oil based because it can be applied to a deck as long as there is no standing water...plus easy cleanup. I have not experienced any peeling and the cedar does not turn black like it did with other products. It simply wears down to the wood again and I apply a new coat. I have never "stained" the deck...always clear/transparent sealant and that may be the difference between my experience and that of some of the other folks.
