Description
This valve's sweet spot technology opens at -0.01 psi and seals at 0 psi and above, screening on air inlets to guard the seal. This one-way valve is designed to allow air to enter the plumbing drainage system when negative pressures develop in the piping system. This device shall close by gravity and seal the vent terminal at zero differential pressure (no flow conditions) and under positive internal pressures.

L'AAV peut-il mal fonctionner et quels sont les signes ?
Oui. Tout AAV peut mal fonctionner ou ne pas fonctionner correctement car il s’agit d’un dispositif mécanique. Les signes indiquant que le Sure-Vent ne fonctionne pas comme prévu sont des odeurs nauséabondes. Si vous sentez des odeurs nauséabondes (odeur d'égout) à proximité d'un appareil de plomberie sur lequel un Sure-Vent est installé, cela signifie que le Sure-Vent ne se ferme pas correctement pour créer une étanchéité positive et doit être remplacé. Certaines personnes associent les vidanges lentes au dysfonctionnement du Sure-Vent. Le Sure-Vent n'est pas le problème, la vidange lente est liée à un blocage partiel au sein même du drain lui-même. Un drain partiellement bloqué se remplira d'eau lorsque l'appareil se videra, et le Sure-Vent reconnaît la pression positive de la restriction et reste en position fermée pour arrêter le reflux hors du Sure-Vent. Vous devriez faire nettoyer votre drain lorsque cela se produit.

Good product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got this vent to put on our kitchen sink, so that the water would drain quicker, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. It's an easy install, and it made a huge difference after doing dishes, and unplugging the sink to allow it to drain. I would highly recommend this product if you have a slow draining sink, I wish I would have bought one of these a long time ago.

Works great and meets zoneing compliance
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been renovating my bathroom and built a closet to install a compact washer dryer. I needed it to vent out in order to meet zoneing codes, however I did not have the ability to vent it diredtly out of the house nor was I able to tap into the existing vent line. This is where this Sure-Vent comes in. It attaches directly to the elimination line to allow air in and smooth water flow out without gurgleing, and it does not allow the fumes of the elimination line in the house, and does this by a single way valve. This is a great product, and it saved me a ton of time and money.

These have become standard practice to use.

Using the Oatey Sure-Vent Air Admittance Valve has become his standard when overseeing the plumbing jobs. They work perfectly to eliminate drain odors and they are vent free. Sometimes a standard roof vent throughout a home is not feasible and these work great for that. My husband gives these a huge thumbs up!

No more under-sink odor!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For some time, I occasionally noticed a stinky odor under our sink that couldn't traced to a leak or spill. Then when replacing the faucet, I noticed a small device nestled up high behind the sink bowls on top of a pipe attached to the drain. When I checked it out further, I realized I had what it called an air admittance valve. It lets air into your drain system whenever there's a vacuum created when a bunch of water flows through, like when you dump out your dishwashing pan. It had failed, and was allowing sewer odors to seep past. This "Sure-vent" product was the fix for this, and was easy to install. It has a threaded end, just the like defective one I had, and you just apply some Teflon tape and screw it in; no glue or primer needed! The odor is gone now and I didn't have to call a plumber.
