Do these need a structure for support so they stay upright?

Hang or hold the trellis from anywhere less than 6 inches from sides with hooks, nails screws or
directly on a structure if it allows it. You may use the zip ties included in the bag or other methods.

Do these have to remain straight, or can they curve to wrap a round building?
I wouldn’t try bending them around a building, so no is the answer. Buy two or more to achieve that effect.

How do I secure these to a wooden fence ?
It comes with zip ties but I just put a few screws in the fence and hung it

Could these be mounted onto a fence with nails or screws instead of zip ties?

You can put nail or screws in your wooden fence or wall and then hung the trellis on it, but we do not recommend screwing or nailing throught the product.

When they aren't fully expanded would they fit easily into a car? Or could I bring them on the subway?
Yes. You could place easily carry these onto a subway although, more than 2 may prove to be too heavy

What are the maximum and minimum dimensions? Example, when completely folded, what size is it? When completely extended, how large can it go?
When completely fold the size is 46.5in. x 16.5in. The optimal coverage is 36in. x 72in. and the fully extended is 22in x 96in.

this is great. covers the old wire fence and makes it look like a lovely hedge. neighbours have a dog which barks at our dogs when she can see them this is to help with that and so far working. have had the other type with branches but it fell apart. this plastic back hopefully will last longer
