I see in one of our other responses you state this dock cannot be connected to a float system - can you explain why this is? For example, why could this dock not be connected to one or more foam-filled floats to extend an existing floating dock?
Hi, this QP-427 Stationary Dock is designed to be ultra light and affordable. It doesn't have full end pieces and the connectors are triangular plates bolted on the sides of the dock. A floating dock requires mobile hinges and a structure designed to handle waves movements and pressure from mooring boats. Can you use one of these sections as a ramp?
Hello Kennnr,
The term ramp can be interpreted in many ways. If your looking for an extension to a floating dock, this is not what you need unless it's installed as a self-standing structure. And remember that there are only two 6 ft. posts in the box (that can be cut). This ultralight dock cannot be connected to a floating system. What is the recommended maximum depth of water to use this in.
Hello PaddyG. The 2 piles supplied with this dock are 6 ft long. As you will pound these piles about 6 inches in the bottom of the lake and as we suggest to let a foot or two stick out over the dock for possible further adjustments, it's recommended to install this dock in no more than 4 ft of water. Deeper than that, the installation is going to be a bit hard to do. Please read the Assembly Instruction Guide on this page for further information. Thanks for asking!
