Great product, terrible spray nozzles.
The product itself is excellent. The spray nozzles get clogged continously. Yes, I finish spraying with the can upside down...doesn't matter. I can't tell you how many half-full cans I have that are not useable because of clogs nozzles. I've even manually cleaned the nozzles, and freed up the small metal rod inside the nozzle. It may work fine for one more job, then...clogged again.While I think the product is really great, I'm afrain I will need to look for a replacement product . Perhaps MinWax colud include a couple of replacement nozzles with each can? Either that or change the nozzle design so it either won't clog, or it's a more standard design that I can find replacement nozzles for.

Don't use this outside!
I'm a Minwax fan, but this product is the worst I've ever used. I did a number sign on a wood cookie and did some pyrography on it, then applied the helmsman finish as directed. One summer and the pyrography had to be redone as it faded to nothing and the finish started to flake off.. So not impressed that my hours of work disappeared. Redid all the pyrography and reapply more of the helmsman finish. Another summer and the pyrography is again faded but no peeling. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone on outdoor anything. Better so more research on the UV protection or don't advertise this on the product...

Farmhouse table from
Great results on farmhouse table top
I completed a DIY project of a farmhouse table and went with their recommendation of this product for the table top and bench. I've applied three coats and I'm very happy with the results! Some YouTubers recommend using a sponge brush but I found the paintbrush much better as it goes with the grain.

Good product
Easy to use and relatively short dry times to recoat. Fi al finish is harder than other high quality spar varnishes but still a good product. I thin initial coat on raw wood 25% and for marine use, I would recommend 5-7 coats with annual recoats in Northern
environment. Southern lats need 10 coats and quarterly recoats.

Full sunlight finally dried doors for more coats.
I bought this about a month ago and started applying it to an exterior wood door. First coat went on very well, except that it took four days to dry with the last day having placed door in full Georgia sunlight, it finally dried. Second and third coats were no different, had to place doors in full sunlight to dry. Temp of doors hit about 120 degrees F. Minwax confirmed with the high humidity here it will take longer to dry. Wasn't expecting 4 days with added sunlight.
