Description
Gain control with the Metabo HPT Rotary Hammer. Features of this brushless rotary hammer include an antivibration, soft-grip handle, a hammer and drill mode switch, and a 4-stage speed selector. Built with Reactive Force Control technology, the 36V SDS hammer drill stops rotation when overload is sensed. This protects the user, tool and battery when the 36 Volt SDS hammer drill is used.

Works Great,, powerful
Bought this for spouse for Christmas, he loves it, It was a green Xmas this year, so he tried it out on some rocks in the yard he has been battling with, said it worked great, will use it in the spring before lawnmower time,,

Only fit for men 30 plus years old works great to drill holes in a existing spring for a faucet sillcock also great for busting concrete off fence post while still on the ground wish for a reverse feature later on though almost perfect

Powerful…maybe a little too powerful
Bought this for a retro-fit hold-down job. I originally had 21 3/4” and 7/8” holes to drill for all thread and epoxy. This thing definitely has some power and is very smooth to operate. The downfall is the battery life and the battery temp. I have the “big” 36v batteries and I could only get 4-5 12” deep holes out of a single charged battery. This was a little disappointing to say the least. In addition, the batteries were so hot when I took them off to charge that they would not begin charging until they cooled down which took about 20-30 min. I don’t think I have any other tool (green, blue, red, or yellow) that gets a battery pack this hot.
The saving grace for this tool is the A/C adapter which made it possible to power through the rest of the holes.
I have not tried on the chipping setting but am curious to see if the batteries last longer on that setting.
It would be nice if Metabo would introduce a larger battery pack for some heavy duty applications.

Amazing Tool
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great tool with more power than I was expecting. I purchased the sds max for the tasks the sds plus couldn't handle. Floor tile and cement beds stand no chance with this hammer drill. I've been very pleased with performance and design. Only thing negative is the battery drains very quick. However, I expected that. I usually use the adapter with this tool.

Boulder Buster
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this this summer to try and find a better answer for drilling through boulders in order to run plumbing through them for water features. I had a different rotary hammer that would take hours to get through boulders, but i was able to get through the same size boulders in 15 minutes with this Metabo!

co workers jealous
I work with 45 guys and our employer is upgrading all of his properties. We have been using this with the AC adapter to bust thru concrete slabs to add plumbing for showers.
They love it.
Almost 99% of our guys use the yellow brand and when they see all my Metabo tools and I tell them how much I paid for them, their eyes glaze over.
They realize the bought the wrong brand.

Competent game changer
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been working on my stone basement for about 3 or 4 years by hand with a 4 lb hammer and chisel . Finishing the outside of the basement digging down , pointing , mortaring and am now on the inside about 1/4 done . I finally decided to buy a demo hammer and found the Metabo 36 volt rotary hammer . I did not need a cordless or a rotary drill but for the price , which I thought was reasonable it included both . Not wanting to mortar in the basement through winter I have only taken the time to test the unit out which only took 20 minutes to chip out a 3’ x 3’ piece of the wall and boy was I impressed . Mind you , I have not used a lot of demo hammers with the exception of a well known large unit to break up a 12 x 22 garage pad . It took me all day . I have many power hand tools by other manufacturers but this is my first Metabo power tool . I find I will have to get used to the weight of this hammer drill but the power , quality and the ease of use has made me happy with my purchase of this unit . I feel it will give me many years of use .

Go Green or Go Home!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tool is by far the best on the market, the versatility to use AC and DC in itself eclipses other competitors by far. Whether on a remote site or looking to put in hours of hard demo, this tool will exceed expectation. The variable speed modes, bit rotation ability (to tackle any angle of work), hammer, and hammer drilling options makes this demo- hammer drill an essential tool in any commercial or residential builder’s inventory.
