Description
The 18 V cordless planer is covered by Metabo HPT's lifetime lithium-ion tool warranty. It combines comfort and convenience with fade-free power, lighter weight and longer total battery life that comes from lithium-ion battery power. Available as tool body only, it is compatible with all of Metabo HPT's 18-V lithium-ion slide-type batteries (sold separately). This ergonomic tool is only 7.3 lb and is equipped with a battery charge indicator light that warns when the battery life if getting low to reduce unexpected downtime.
- Capable of generating a no-load speed of 16,000 RPM
- 3 1/4-inch cutting width
- Cutting depth of up to 5/64 inches
- Stand attached on the rear side to prevent the blade from accidental contact with the user when not in use

Nice addition to the arsenal
I like this tool a lot! So far I’ve used to to plane down and fit a few 1-3/8” interior doors and some misc work making fitment adjustments to poplar trim. It’s got plenty of power and it’s relatively quiet. In the work that I’ve used it for I haven’t noticed any detriment to having a cordless planer over a 120v tool. This cordless planer feels solidly built in the hand and performs very well!

Great for Sanding
I recently purchased from Amazon. This completes my woodworking collection of cordless power tools. I cut the cord—fantastic little planer. I have a total of ten 18-volt Metabo cordless power tools. I have a handheld router. I have the 6 1/2 circular saw. I have two impact drivers. One has variable impact functions. One is for everyday use. I have the cordless drill. I have the cordless oscillating tool. I have a cordless shop LED light. I have a cordless handheld blower with a vacuum function. Oh, make that 11 tools. I have the cordless handheld sawsall. Plus I have two battery chargers and four various amp batteries for the different projects.

Easy and fun to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this a few months back to level out some exterior stair stringers. Fun to use because it throws wood shavings all over the place, but I had to clean up afterward. Lots of power and speed. Also useful for taking the crown off of a 2x4. It helped make the sheathing install easier.
