Alternatively, Utile walls don’t require the purchase of other materials except silicone, and a few tools if not already in hand. As for the long run: tile is a sturdy material, however grout requires regular care to keep its look and integrity long term. Utile walls, on the other hand, have realistic and carefree faux grout lines that will not crack! can you get a left side shower drain
Yes - you can get this same kit with a shower base that has a left drain instead of a right drain. You will have to change the model number a little to get to this product on Lowes.ca. Please change the model number to 106983-301-500-100 or the Lowe's item # to 330783646 to view the product with the left drain. Excellent quality
We are very happy with our new Utile alcove shower and Halo door, which we have been using for the last six months. The panels are well designed for water tight interconnecting and the acrylic tile surface looks and feels like the real thing, even the simulated grout lines. Impressive quality overall. The installation was a bit tricky since we were retrofitting the unit into an existing alcove of a 70+ year old home. Most of the studs were off plumb and required some correction. Several studs along the back wall were slanted inwards at the top and replacing or refitting them was not an option in this case. The existing floor space was limited due to an adjacent door frame so we could not simply move the shower pan out to accommodate for the angled studs. Instead, we simply notched the studs to create a recess for accepting the top flange of the back panel. Insetting the depth of the flange into the studs was just enough to have the panel square to the shower pan. Once everything was square and plumb the rest of the installation progressed smoothly. One suggestion to the manufacture; we would have like to have a more aggressive texture on the shower pan – the non-slip surface does provide adequate grip but a bit more would provide a higher level of security.

MAXX UTILE 60" Shower Kit
The wall panels were very good quality . The shower pan design is the weak spot .
The styrofoam inner support is not thoroughly bonded to the poly pan . I read on the internet to put talc between the pan and the styrofoam ; it gets rid of almost all the squeek . Instructions were good .
