Should have listened to other reviews
Bought this on sale and liked the direct to stud idea. Other reviews complained about the holes and pins not lining up and I should have listened. They are all over the place. Funny thing is inspection signed off on the pieces according to the inspection stickers. Be prepared to drill your own holes and also it is a more confined space due to the shelve etc. Floor could use more support as well. All in all I'm glad it was on sale.

Maax Shower Kit
The unit is attractive and manufactured by a very well known Canadian firm therefore I feel confident it will perform well. In addition the price was excellent. My only negative comment is regarding the condition of the boxes which was poor which resulted in a chip broken on one corner of the unit. The chip is in a hidden part of the unit and will not affect it's performance.

Quality control and instructions suck
4 People all with years of DIY experience. very frustrating installation. NO Instructions, Poor Instructions online, No pertinant Youtube instructions. You are on your own.
Pins are poor design, they don't line up, or are crooked. Poor support on front.
Drain is to large. doesn't need to be 5"
I will not buy from this manufacture again.

Good overall for the price
I purchased this on sale for a high traffic kids bathroom, regularly used by 4 of them, decided on this one as the price was right and I didn't want any polystyrene as every one of those I've had has turned yellowed over time and they seem flimsy. This one was fiberglass so it was also a bit sturdier than the old one, and much warmer to the touch than the old steel tub that was in there. I took my time to install and make sure the base and walls were level and plumb and shimmed the studs that were out, and it all lined up pretty well and seems to be holding up quite well so far after a year of use. The only complaint I have is the mounting flanges are very thin and break easily, the first one was broken in the box on the base, the second was on the walls, so I took the best of the two (still damaged a bit but hidden) and was careful during install to make sure they were shimmed properly where needed to the studs and the fasteners were not over tightened. No leaks or squeaks and it looks nice in the end

Not sure how I feel
All I wanted was a bigger shower than my old one but this one is not deep at all and feels just as small. These should be 32 inches or 33 inches at the least for depth. By the time I noticed how deep it wasn't, it was already half installed so now I'm stuck with it. The shelves and cloth hanger, all that stuff that sticks out, makes the shower feel even smaller inside. Not what I expected at all. At the store, I stood in a 34"x48", thinking I would get the same with depth with the 60", it was never even mentioned it to me that it only came in a 30" depth!
