Bought this and a Kobalt 40v lawn mower to replace corded yardworks brands
Couldn't be happier l. 5amp battery was enough to do an entire yard with still 2/4 battery bars remaining.

Cordless Kobalt For Me from
Great Trimmer for Cordless
Bought the trimmer at Rona. Read a lot about cordless trimmers, reviews, etc. and Kobalt was always there with Ego, Greenworks, etc. Comparing 40v systems Kobalt performs as good or better than all the others and at a much better price (especially when on sale) and has as good or better warranty period. Do read more than just a couple reviews or the first hits you get on the internet, go back a couple years as well (saw a review where a three year old Kobalt trimmer and mower were used and they both performed admirably). My neighbor has a Ego trimmer and mower and this Kobalt is just as quiet and works just as good (I also have a Kobalt 40v mower that works just as good as the trimmer and just as good as the neighbors Ego mower). Not sure what people are doing with the batteries that prompts them to give negative comments, poor performance, doesn't hold charge, doesn't last long............this trimmer with a 2.5Ah battery does my front, side and back yard (80ft across the front, 140ft down the side, 150+ft across the back is lot size) with two battery bars out of four left. So I can trim the entire yard twice on that 2.5Ah battery. Maybe people are constantly running the trimmer at absolute full speed? I don't trim like that. I stick to the instructions as well, plug charger in the wall, drop battery into charger, when charged remove battery from charger and store out of direct sun, bad weather, extreme temperatures, etc. So I keep charged battery in the house and don't leave it in the trimmer. Following simple instructions and trimming with common sense this trimmer is the best I've ever had, including my old gas powered trimmer (that ran at warp nine). Only negative I can come up with is the size of the guard is a little bigger than I'd like, the weight and balance, triggers, speed selections, trim line performance is all good. In fact, the line which is smaller than what my gas trimmer is, cuts better and at a slower speed and lasts longer. Also prefer the bump feed so to not waste trimmer line (like the auto feeds do). It works just like my gas trimmer, bump it against the ground and it feeds out. Don't know what people are saying that it does not feed out, they must not be bumping it hard enough or maybe too hard, it's more of a tap and press firm against the ground not bang it hard against the ground. At least that works for me with this trimmer.
