Last time I had one of these which was a long time ago every time I used it the snow blew back into my face. Does the same thing occur with this machine?

Too heavy to use comfortably
I'm a strong 75 year old in good health. I got this two winters ago to clear the walkway and the space in front of the garage door that the snow clearing guy misses. It is strong and eats through snow admirably but it shoots a storm of powder up in the air to coat all the surrounding ground and critters (read "folks") with white stuff. So you have to look around before you blow through the snow. The problem is that this thing is really heavy. So after a few minutes, I have to take a break before it breaks me! There are no rear wheels on it to make it easier to handle and it snags on seams or bumps in the concrete, ice or asphalt. Time to upgrade for this old guy who still thinks he's 25 but the Kobalt snow shovel disagrees!

Good if you use it properly
It's Jan 19th, two days after the GTA got a massive dumping of snow, at my house we were dealing with 12 inches plus of snow. I got this because I heard it shoots snow and that's what I wanted it to do, I used this for my back patio and full length of the house, I wouldn't recommend it for precision. But if you have the space to fling it far, it works. As for clogging up and stopping it from working if the snow is too heavy, I haven't had that issue, I basically held it off the ground and skimmed the top layer and then did the rest. It is heavy! Feel the machine, adjust for best results. So this technique is not for every one. But it works. If you use it properly and aren't expecting it to be a full size blower. You get what you get. My only issue is that it should come with an adjustable cover to limit the height of how high it throws the snow, which makes it difficult to use in smaller areas
