Description
This KitchenAid induction cooktop is perfect for any kitchen island! It features 4 cooking surface areas, 12 heat level settings, and can provide up to 3700 W of cooking power. It also has a bridge function that combines 2 cooking zones into 1 large cooking zone. Variable heat settings enable you to fine-tune your cooking techniques, whether you're melting chocolate, simmering a sauce or searing meat. The touch-activated controls are easy to use and the simmer function automatically selects a low power level to help maintain a constant simmer without boiling over. You can even use the melt and hold function to melt delicate ingredients or keep cooked foods warm without scorching them. This easy-to-clean cooking surface complies with UL safety standards and is backed by a 1-year limited warranty on parts and labour.

Disappointed
I love the way this cooktop functions, but the design of the edges of the glass top is not thought out well. The edge tapers off. It is very attractive, but also very fragile. After a short amount of use there were chips and cracks along the edges and on the corners. I would never recommend this cooktop because of this. After the first chip appeared I had my husband caulk around the edge to try to protect it, however that wasn't enough, it has continued to chip in other places. I have had several glass top cooktops and have never had this happen, as the edge was thick and sturdy. I have only had it for 3 years and wish I could replace it because I hate the chips. They need to redesign the glass top.

Horrible product
Horrible I have owned this product in a vacation home for 2 years used maybe 10 times and it currently is not working and the parts needed for repair are no longer made by kitchen aid and I cannot find anywhere shocker they probably stopped making it because they are terrible

Has not worked since it was installed.
I replaced my old cooktop with this cooktop on 9/20 and it has yet to work. I paid for installation and haul away of my previous appliance. Kitchenaid had the installers come back out to check the installation due to the error code I was receiving, which took a week. After that I had to wait for a tech to come out to check the cooktop. The first 2 canceled the day of my appointment and a new tech was scheduled and finally came out on 10/11. He couldn't get it to work either and had to order parts for a brand new cooktop. It has been almost 3 weeks and the parts are still not in. I went from a working cooktop to a new non-working cooktop. I have many new kitchenaid appliances and have always been happy with their products, but extremely disappointed with this whole process. There are no other induction cooktops in stock and I am left to see if the service department can get this in working order or return an appliance that was delivered not working.

It is the third time the larger burner stops working , we have to call them to request service . They have identified the issue but do not want to replace , exchange or return the money.

Great when it does work.
I got this cooktop last year and it worked fine for the first 6-8 months. Since then it's had a board replaced and it is acting up again. there have been times I had to cut the power to force it to shutdown. I am currebtly experienncing issues with teh same burner not working. It just clicks when you turn it on then shuts off. The concept is great, I like the induction technology but this unit in particular has been a headache to keep running. You would think for the price I paid and the brand name stamped on it, this thing would be bullet proof.

Fantastic!

I have always been a gas range only, but I got an induction hot plate to try them out and I couldn't believe how great they were. Fast, clean and convenient, you can't beat them.

Beautiful addition to my kitchen remodel
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using my cooktop for almost 6 months. I am very happy with it. My only complaint is not with KitchenAid, but with cookware manufacturers. Pan type is critical (magnetic), but so is size. Pans are sold by the top dimension (8", 12", etc) but we need to know the bottom contact area. Some of my pans were either too large or too small for any of my "hubs". I am still looking for something to use with the bridge elements.
This cooktop is easy to clean and heats up fast.
