KitchenAid 24-In 47 dBA Built-in Dishwasher Smudge-Free Stainless Steel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 365.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quiet and mostly what I wanted in a dishwasher [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This replaces a 19 year old Kenmore dishwasher that was purchased in 2005, unfortunately the part we needed was no longer made. The new replacement Kitchen Aid met most of my requirements; however, I've only used it twice so the review may change as time goes by. The things I wanted and why: there is no 3rd rack which are worthless because most of them are to swallow, and yes, I've had plenty of experience with the 3rd rack that other people had. The forks, spoons, knives are on the side of the bottom rack and not in the door. This positioning does a better job of cleaning as well as being more convenient to load and unload. So far my glasses are sparkling clean with no white residue and I have not used the Finish Jet-Dry, which I never used in my old dishwasher and I believe if a dishwasher is quality there is no need for it. The test of time will see if this holds true on this new dishwasher! The cleaning selections are on the outside top front of the door which allows you to see where the unit is in the cleaning cycle. I prefer this placement over the cleaning selections that are on the inside top which you cannot see unless the door is open. The top rack adjusts up or down to accommodate larger items on either the bottom or top rack. The unit is super quiet and that's because there are no models made with food grinders anymore as far as I know. What I don't like: there is no food grinder so the dishes must be free of food particles; you do not have to prewash your dishes but you do need to scrape off the food pieces. At least once a month clean the filter which although inconvenient it is not hard to do. Next, when I lowered the top rack the button stuck down on one side so that I could not raise it back up. I was able to use a butter knife to pop it back in place which allowed me to raise the rack back up. Since I seldom raise or lower the rack I'm hoping this won't be a major issue!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's in. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have no issue with the appliance now that we finally have it up and running. It took 2 months to the day after the original purchase for the evaluation, repairs and the eventual replacement of the factory defective unit. I expected better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Quality & Looks! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a model very close to this one in 2020 while living in previous house in Minnesota. I was very happy with the model at our previous address except I found that I was not using the third rack. I still feel the controls should be on the outside of the unit because things can spill on the top of counter and pour over onto the buttons on top of door too easily. The only thing I'm slightly disappointed with, the "Normal" cycle takes 2hrs to complete. So I will find myself using the "Express" wash and hopefully its just as thorough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, But Not Perfect [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No complaints with the operation of our new dishwasher, but I have a couple suggestions for the design team. I feel that the silverware rack is better suited to the front of the bottom rack rather than the side of the rack as it is in this unit, and I would change the handle design for the silverware rack to a smaller round handle that will not collect water rather than the wide flat handle which is always holding water at the end of the wash. Otherwise, this unit is very quiet, very spacious, and does a great job when the extended heated dry is chosen. The regular heated dry cycle doesn't quite dry everything as much as I would like.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would not buy again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There is nowhere to put small items - lids, etc. I guess I should have checked inside before I purchased. It takes a lot longer to run a cycle than my last dishwasher! Not pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality machine from a quality manufacture. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was time for a replacement. watched for sales .. all the regular box store buy now/buy here/ zero % ..blah blah.. started researching determined not to bite at sounds good.. first rule, focus on who through the years makes a good machine ...Kitchenaid. .. Rule 2.. what do you get for the price? Don't need all the bells and whistles.. the more options, the odds of failure go up.... Stainless steel tub, research says a must.. quiet is plus.. simplicity in operation. found the machine and waited for a price.. patience is a virtue... Twice the cost of box store push sale. In the long run, money well spent for a quality machine and going for the long haul. Went through local appliance store. keep your money local..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great DW except for the Utensil Tray. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 2nd KA Dishwasher. I've been quite happy with the brand in general. Also have a KA range. My previous KA DW worked well for many years and did a great job no matter how tightly I tetrised the load. I seldom needed to go beyond a normal cycle to get great results. I like the new simpler pull out trays with fewer movable parts to break. But I am definitely not a fan of the new utensil basket. I don't actually know how new this design is since my last dishwasher was installed in 2012. But this is just bad. I understand the reasoning behind the changes. But this new basket design is very limiting in both the quantity and style of utensils and flatware that can be loaded. In fact the slots of this basket are too narrow to accommodate one of my good sets of Oneida flatware that flare a bit at the ends. The slot design requires running the DW more often because it limits the quantity of utensils that can be loaded. And this basket design requires the user to unload utensils by grabbing the eating surfaces rather than the handles. Ewww. One final remark: the User Manual is as bare bones as you can get. Good customer service anticipates the user's experience. I shouldn't have to google something from a non-KA source because the manual doesn't answer a very basic question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of use. Has all the features I need. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have nothing but good things about our dishwasher. So happy to have purchased a Kitchenaid. I
