Description
The S140 riding lawn tractor is the most affordable 48-inch deck model of John Deere's 100 series. Its 22-HP V-Twin engine has plenty of power to handle tough mulching, mowing and bagging conditions for yards of up to 2 acres. Featuring a 12-gauge steel frame and enhanced styling, the S140 tractor has a hydrostatic transmission, side-by-side foot pedals, adjustable controls and a front bumper. The 48-inch 3-blade Edge(TM) cutting system with electric PTO blade engagement offers superior cut quality and can be easily equipped to bag or mulch. The cutting height can be adjusted from 1 to 4 inches in 1/4 increments. Offering a comfortable ride with a 15-in heat-resistant open back seat, this lawn mower has a maximum forward speed of 5.5 MPH and comes with a 2-year warranty. Cuts very nice
The unit cuts grass!
Down side to buying this at Rona is the blade deck was not set up to manufacture spec. Not even close, tire pressure way over inflated. Definitely going to have to go over everything single thing at the 5 hour mark. One other thing I've noticed is the mower deck doesn't go all the way up or all the way down. Kinda pointless to have all these cutting adjustments but only 4 work.
Besides that price was great.

Good mower, watch for possible manufacturing issue
I have to mow a few acres each week. There is a connection that they wrapped around the shaft that after and hour or so of use burned through the insulation and kept shorting every time I tried to start the blades. I moved it around the other side and fixed the issue (After reconnecting and sealing the wires)
