Stay Away - Looks nice, but doesn't install
This tub is very nice looking, modern, and clean lines. However, this is far outweighed by the inability to install properly. The tub does not contain a standard overflow hole cut out - it is both too small (2" vs 2-1/4") and too close to the upper lip of the tub. The tub does not come with an overflow kit and you cannot get an overflow kit for this size hole.
After contacting the supplier directly (Jade Bath) I was advised that: 1) they are aware that the hole size is too small and non-standard, 2) there is nothing they can (or are willing) to do about it, 3) in their experience and feedback to date you cannot get overflow assemblies to fit this smaller hole, and finally 4) to use this tub I would need to drill a larger hole.
The 4th (only) viable option presented is not really a quality install option. Self-drilling would void warranties and could cause damage, and not to mention should not be required for a tub sold by a large local store like Lowes. Additionally, even if the hole is drilled, you cannot properly fit an overflow drain on it because the original 2" hole is too close to the upper tub lip, and the lip restricts the overflow gasket from being properly centered. I received the same feedback from local plumbing part suppliers. Soo after all of this time, delay in project, and money spent trying various overflow drain assemblies, the tub has to be returned and I had to purchase a different model from another supplier.
Also note that before realizing this issue I had also contacted the supplier for instructions and rough in plumbing dimensions. There are no instructions on the site or with the tub, and the dimensions they provided were not helpful or what is needed for plumbing rough ins.
Buyers beware… do not buy this brand, even though it looks great. I am confused why the supplier is still able to sell to retailers such as Lowes, and I am more confused as to why Lowes would sell such a product.
