Description
Bore holes in wood with the Irwin drill bit. Made of high-carbon steel, this drill bit is durable, strong and safe to use. The auger drill bit produces a smooth and uniform hole. With a shank drill bit, the bit will fit into the drill's chuck firmly. Use the wood-boring bit with a power tool to drill wood and metal.
- Wide lands keep the bit straight as it bores through the hole
- Flutes are ground behind the lands to funnel chips to the inside of the bit and away from the outside diameter, producing a faster, cleaner cut
- Full-length heat-treated bit guards against bending in heavy-duty applications, and strengthens the twist where the greatest strain occurs
- Solid center design provides extra rigidity while driving
- Coarse screw point provides fast drilling in hard and soft woods
- Single-spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother finish
