They fit nice and snug in the size duct their desi
I bought these to replace the diffusers my HVAC company installed because they restricted air flow quite bad. They a full inch smaller than the duct they were supposed to fit into. These units only reduce the outlet size by around a 1/4 inch. They’re quite sturdy and install easily.

NOT GOOD FOR HIGH CEILINGS
I HAVE THESE IN THE CEILING OF THE BOTTOM FLOOR OF A WALK-OUT RANCHER. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I HAVE 10 FOOT CEILINGS AND I DON'T LIKE HAVING TO PULL OUT A BIG LADDER JUST TO OPEN OR CLOSE VENT IN THE SPRING AND FALL. I'M LOOKING FOR SOME KIND OF EXTENSION POLE THAT I CAN USE TO OPEN/CLOSE IT. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT IF YOU HAVE WALLS HIGHER THAN 8 FEET, UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING THE LADDER OUT. OTHERWISE, IT'S GREAT AND LOOKS VERY NICE.
