Description
Featuring the classic HOFT stylish design, the HOFT gate frame kit includes 2-in x 71-in black powder-coated aluminum extrusions and screws. The fence gate is easy to assemble as it comes with a simple slide and screw installation. It can be installed to HOFT posts, to any specific width (maximum 4-ft wide). Designed for horizontal deck boards, it is entirely made of aluminum so you don/t have to worry about rust. Boards, hinges and lock sold separately.

can you modify this to match the 44" high panel for a shorter gate?
Hi tywebs and thanks for reaching out. yes, you can cut our HOFT 71’’ Gate Kit to your desired height, using a circular or miter saw with a carbide blade. The Gate Channels & Slide Cappings can be easily cut to any desired height, however you must cut the bottom end (see arrow on Gate Channels) so they fit perfectly with the 44’’ HOFT Railing Post Kits. Les charnières et la serrure ne sont pas incluses dans les kits de Porte HOFT et sont conçues pour la plupart des kits de charnière et de verrouillage vendus dans le magasin où vous avez acheté votre kit de Porte HOFT, et afin que vous puissiez choisir en fonction du poids de la porte et de vos besoins de verrouillage. Is this product just 2 U shaped aluminum extrusions?

Which post is needed to attach the gate frame to: a line post or an end post? What hinges and locks can be used (what models)?
Hi mar999 and thanks for reaching out. You can install hinges on our HOFT End Post or Corner Post, but not on our Line Post, because you would not have enough space on either side of the wood boards for a 2’’ hinge to be installed … if you can find a 1 ½’’ hinge, then this may be possible, but otherwise not recommended. Quality is good however this gate kit does not come hinges or latches or any hardware at all to complete your gate.

Good product quality however I did not realize until ready to install that this gate does not come with a latch or even hinges. Must buy separately. Not much of a gate without key components. Of course my local Rona sold out of those parts. Job stalled until I order online.
