Description
The 19-oz Vaughan California Framer hammer combines the best features of two popular tools into a rugged, heavy-construction hammer. The smoothly swept claws were borrowed from the 999 rip hammer, and the striking face, hatchet eye and sturdy handle are a heritage of the Vaughan Rigbuilder's hatchet. The striking face is extra large to minimize the chance of missed strikes. To provide extra strength, the handle has a large cross section where it joins the fully polished head. Rust-resistant powder coat finish on head.

Best in the Price Range
Choosing hammers has a lot of preference involved, but for me this is easily my favorite hammer in the price range. As with any wooden handle hammer, if you don't abuse it pulling out big duplex nails and such, it should have a long lifespan. I will be buying another one of these when mine finally dies
