How do you change the bulb?
Addendum to my previous answer - not sure by I said only 4x - really if this 500W halogen produces 8000 lumens, that's equivalent to a 80W LED, so the halogen would use 6x as much energy as a typical LED of the same brightness. Newer LEDs will be even more efficient.

I bought this last summer. Just set it up now and wont even turn on. Was all in original packaging, the bulb looks good,, but a total no go. A big waste of money.

For all the people complaining about light burning out. If you read the instructions don’t touch the bulb. The oil on your skin burns the bulb out. It makes hot spots

Cheap Work Light
I've had this work light for two years now.the bulb just burned out and hopd I can get less than 500 watts this time
I absolutely agree that it gets hotter than necessary but it gives good light when painting walls in a dim space garage projects or doing any task that requires bright light. Hot hot hot.

What a rip off!
I bought this lamp 3 weeks ago and used it for a total of 5 hours. It gets REALLY REALLY hot-- so keep your kids/dogs/spouse away from the work area. And the bulb burned out after 5 hours of use. This unit is a rip off-designed to last 5 hours. Don't but it. Spend a bit more and get something that will last more than 300 minutes. Rona ought to discontinue selling this product.
