Description
This 4-inch Halo retrofit recessed light housing is designed for use in existing non-insulated ceilings. The housing is Air-Tite and can be used in insulated ceilings where insulation is kept 3 inches from all sides of the fixture. It is formed of CRS and a powder coat finish for durability. This small aperture recessed housing is easy install from below the ceiling with 3 quick connect wiring connectors and 4 remodel clips that accommodate 1/2-inch and 5/8-inch ceiling materials. It has a fixed-position porcelain socket with a nickel-plated, brass screws shell that ensures the lamp stays in place. It is made to be used with 4-inch trims (not included).
- Insulation must be kept 3-in from all sides of the housing
- 5-1/2-in height allows for use in 2-in x 6-in joist construction
- Wide variety of trims available to achieve different lighting effects
- Remodel springs accommodate 1/2-in and 5/8-in ceiling material
- Air-Tite(TM) housing prevents airflow between attic and living areas
- Quick Connect(TM) wiring connectors included in junction box
- Built-in thermal protector provides protection against over lamping
- Die-formed housing and plaster frame

Easy Peasy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Came with a fantastic little template so you don't have to go crazy doing all the math. Very easy to install and feels like it will last a lifetime. I was actually really impressed which is a weird thing to say about this type of product. But I really was impressed. Highly recommended.

Not so good

Easy install.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My at home office isn't always as bright as I would like. I tried lamps, but they seem to get thin the way. Recessed lighting is the way to go! I chose the Halo recessed light to install over my desk and I am glad I did. I found installation of the fixture itself fairly easy. It was all the prep work that took time! I'm happy with the final result.

easy to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] was easy to install in drywall without having to patch anything. The fixture fit into the 4" hole for the can. I cut the 4" hole and fed the electrical line to it and connected the fixture and slide it back into the hole and the fixture filled the hole, new light no drywall patching.
