Direct replacement.
Purchased online and picked up in store same day. The tank was an identical model to an old 16 year old model that started to leak. The installation went very well as the model was the same size with the same hook ups as the old tank. The water pipes and chimney were a direct re-installation. The only issue was that the control was a slightly different height as the old tank, so the gas line needed to be realigned to be able to hook up. This model has a pilot light that is always on, and that is a feature I like. The temperature control knob is easy to set and the tank provides an abundant amount of hot water.

Great quality and long lived
This was purchased to replace the same model/version that we had after almost 16 years of trouble free service. Had to replace the thermocouple 1 1/2 years ago and that was the only issue we ever had!

Lasting 10.5 years before any issues, good brand
So the installation date was before we purchased our house. I looked up the tag and 10.5 years before we had issues, the thermocouple final had a hole in it, replaced last year and finally started leaking last evening, though the part went, but was a tank leak in the burner area :(
