My favourite kind of bulbs for arts and crafts
Everyone thinks I am insane to buy these kind of bulbs, but I specifically look for DAYLIGHT (5000K) 1600 lumens Dimmable - they are hard to find, expensive but worth it. They are superb for product photography and doing crafts; the work area is very well lit and you'll get very accurate colours rather than the "yellowing" from warmer bulbs. Warning, 1600 lumens is BLINDING so best for pointing downwards at a work area.
As for general home use, these are handy when you're doing housework; warmer bulbs can add so much yellow it muddies all the blue hues in the room so then I can't tell the difference between certain clothing items or pen inks.. no more mismatched socks. However, I wouldn't suggest using these bulbs regularly - these are hard on the eyes for long periods of time. I have a dimmable lamp set with 5 bulbs that can turn on between 2, 3 or 5 bulbs and so then I can swap back and forth between warm or daylight.
