Very poor quality and durability, bad specs
Please don't buy this product, it is a total waste of money and effort and of the lowest quality.
We paid $800 for this unit with taxes and were expecting a quality crafted item given the price.
Once you include the tap, which is not included, you are looking at $1000 including taxes to set this up. It is unbelievable how poor the quality and durability is given the amount of money that is required for it.
We unfortunately were in an urgent situation to have a unit installed and were force to work through all the problems as we badly needed something in place.
Lots of problems:
1) Rona's product specifications are wrong. Rona's table indicates a 17 inch deep bowl in three separate places. The sink is actually 17 cm deep.
2) Rona misclassified the unit. It isn't a laundry/utility tub given its shallow depth of the sink. This is a kitchen sink cabinet product. We wanted a utility tub unit.
3) Rona specifications say the mount type is freestanding. It is not. We required a free standing unit.
There is no way this unit can be used freestanding it is very unstable and weak if it isn't anchored into a wall. It must be anchored into a wall to be stable.
We had to reinforce it with 2x4s and a 1x4 to work for our freestanding application. Even with the 2x4s and 1x4 reinforcing the unit, it still has some wobble to it. See the provided pictures.
4) The product came with no instructions and there are no instructions available on line for it. We had to figure out how to put it together on our own.
5) The sink itself is flimsy constructed with rather thin metal. The tap wobbles easily flexing the sink metal. We had to reinforce it with a 1x4 to secure the tap and prevent wobbling.
6) The cabinet uses extremely low quality particle board that is easily damaged by water. We had a spill from the sink on the first day of installation. The door below the sink area is now junk. See the picture. The material used doesn't tolerate water at all which is a very poor choice given it is a sink and spills happen.
We are stuck with this unit now as we need our laundry room functional and are unable to return it as we badly need something in place. It will be the first item at the roadside when we reno our laundry room in a year or two.
Please do not buy it, you'll be very, very disappointed and it is a lot of money wasted.
